Self-Assessment Process

                                                                    The Process

The development of the self-assessment was a concerted and collaborative effort of HMS accreditation committee and stakeholders. The principal was trained on the process by representatives from ADVANC-ED national office in preparing for the quality assurance review. A school-level steering committee was established and the principal was appointed chairman. In the initial meeting, an overview of the process was presented and a propose timeline developed. A calendar of events was created as a guide to establish timelines for completing various activities. Committee members started the collaboration process by developing a plan of action that ensured HMS met the standards required to receive accreditation. Stakeholders reviewed available data from different departments, matched data with the AdvancEd rubrics, and rated standards based on how resources were allocated and used with fidelity. Data collection occurred between August and November 2012, and covered five years (2007-2012).
